This week has been a monumental one for Landon. Earlier, he finalized all of the paperwork and purchased his first herd of cattle, so he is now an official rancher!

He finished the week by surviving college algebra and graduating with honors to become a certified welder! (He had taken some college classes during high school, so he only had a year left to finish his certification.)

All of the graduates walked in pairs... except for Landon, of course. He was the last one to walk the aisle and he marched alone. I teased him later that it was because he forgot his deodorant. He must have my sense of humor. He had the coordinator twittering with giggles before he did his march.

We were sitting near the back, so it was hard to get good shots at times... good thing he's really tall.

As soon as I left the house this morning, I heard him crooning sweet nothings to me from his perch on the highline wire.

He got just a wee bit braver and came to sit on a weathered sign to take a closer look.

He finally settled on an old fence post for his finale! I think he was singing, "I'm Sexy and I Know It!"

I joined Boot Camp about a month ago. Of course, life went nuts shortly thereafter… Spring Break…. Vallory’s flu… birthday celebrations…

In all, I only got to attend 7-8 classes over the past 30 days. Tonight was the dreaded “Night of Measuring” and I was completely surprised to find that I’d lost 8 1/2″… Yay, me!

Some of us still feel so COMPLETELY uncoordinated… we lack this teeny little thing called “rhythm”… if any of you happen to find mine, please return it immediately…

We’ve finally come to the conclusion that we’re the Boot Camp Buzzards…

*whispers* Y’all KNOW that’s me modeling that new dang tee I made up there, right? Right? Riiiiight????

*huffs off*

*sniffle* Spring Break is at an end… ten days of freedom… over… just like that… gone… into the sunset… swirling down the toilet as we speak… *sigh*

Phat Boy doesn't want Spring Break to end either... he won't have lovely toes to nibble on in the morning while I drink my coffee... although... I won't miss him tracking wet grass all over me in the process... ICK!

The basketball will be quiet during the day....

The birds must be off pouting because I'll be going back to work instead of watching their daily antics.

The purple Iris flowers stand gloriously in the sunlight this morning. It'll be a different story tomorrow morning. You know they'll wilt with disappointment when they see me drive off.

The violets are getting tussled by a slight breeze this morning. They'll probably pray for a hurricane to put them out of their misery once I leave.

*sigh* I iz sooooo depressed….

Work….

No sleeping late…

No sitting around all day in my Snuggie fashionable pajamas….

The Senses:

Sight: The sky! We’ve had absolutely gorgeous weather! The clouds have been amazing… huge and fluffy with some beautiful light shows when they play hide and seek with the sunshine during certain parts of the day! Somehow, I think Mother Nature forgot all about that pesky “winter” thing this year! #winning

Sound: Yep… Adele! Still hung up on Adele! Did I mention I’m lurving me some Adele? Oh, yeah… and I lurve Adele!

Taste: Walden Farms Honey Dijon Salad Dressing- for 0 calories, carbs, fat, and sugar, this stuff rocks! Even Vallory scarfs it up instead of grabbing the Catalina we usually douse on.

Touch: The feel of my toes in the fresh air… yes, folks… KayeCee is officially rockin’ out the sandals in 2012! *ignores the word “March” on the calendar*

Smell: Freshly mown grass… even better when there are wild green onions in the mix!

The Awesome:

SPRING BREAK! Ten days of glorious freedom have been afoot! Trust me… I have enjoyed it immensely!!!

Riding down the road with the windows down and the radio blasting as loud as it will go… not quite to summer freedom yet, but close enough to experience the extreme thrill of anticipation! EIGHT WEEKS, BABY!

The exhilarated feel of pure, raw energy after a Boot Camp session! It is definitely a rush when you walk out of the gym.

The Awkward:

Riding with your mother when she spins out at a stop sign… IN FRONT OF A SHERIFF!!!!

Trying to explain to the Girl Scout Cookies that it’s me… not them… I just need my own space… I think it’s time we see others… ya know? I need a good celery stick to settle down with… not some flirty little things that’ll try to tempt anyone that comes along.

Watching a random guy trying to strike an, “I’m so hot that I’m surprised I’m not having to beat the women off me” pose… while sporting a Pirates of the Caribbean look… which DOES look completely AH-MAZING on Johnny Depp… on random guy? Not so much.

(while listening to a little boy read –> the text says, “My nose smells flowers.”)

Boy: My nuts smell flowers. *pause* Wait a minute! My NUTS can’t smell flowers! My NOSE smells flowers!

(It’s at this awkward moment that the horrific realization of what he just said out loud dawns on his little brain and he fearfully glances up… only to find a teacher with tears rolling down her face in a valiant effort to stifle voracious giggles.)

And yeah… that one’s obviously from last week, but I couldn’t pass up sharing it!

Sooooo… I’m halfway through Spring Break… how’s it going for me so far?

Am I on a road trip with kids asking me if we’re there yet every two seconds?

Am I shooting down the rapids of a raging river?

Am I zip-lining over a cavernous ravine?

Am I trying to keep the sand out of a bathing suit and off my rather ample rear?

Am I doing a thousand chores hoping to have a house Martha would be proud of next week?

Am I catching up on paperwork from school?

Am I running to a thousand different doctor/dentist/optometrist appointments?

Well… ya wanna know, right? What exactly AM I doing?
